Long-Winded Anthology

Long-Winded Anthology

Long-Winded is a multimedia anthology for the verbose, loquacious, and sesquipedalian. It’s about love, loss, longing, and whether or not being yourself makes you a monster; writing about writing; dreams for the future from the past; and talking fast enough to get out of trouble. It’s probably not a Fall Out Boy song title (yet).

Featuring diverse creatives and a wide variety of genres, subjects, and mediums, the collection includes comics, illustration, poetry, short stories, and creative nonfiction.

Welcome to Long-Winded (temporary title), a multimedia anthology for the verbose, loquacious, and sesquipedalian. In other words: chatty creators, this one’s for you!

We want works with titles of five words or longer. There is no strict theme for the content of your works, but if you’re looking for some inspiration for your starting point, we are especially excited by:

• musings on language
• wordplay
• visual poetry
• letters to someone, something, or a concept
• double meanings
• deconstructing a definition

Rights and Housekeeping

PWU’s editors may offer editorial suggestions (including grammatical and proofreading edits) prior to publication, and/or request revisions if the work is not yet ready for publication. We claim non-exclusive one-time rights and non-exclusive archival rights. The individual copyright of your work always remains yours. We may reach out to you about posting excerpts from your works with credit on our various social media platforms and/or in other promotional material. PWU does not post work(s) without prior permission.

Our anthologies and other projects—after initial marketing, launch, potential pre-order period, and sale—will remain for purchase at cover price on our platform of choice in perpetuity. In most cases, some production fees are paid out-of-pocket by PWU staff; all proceeds from purchases of the anthology will go toward recouping printing costs, distribution costs, and future projects. PWU staff is not financially compensated at this time.
